Musicians who need a bit of help with their compositions are well advised to give Digital Band a try. Available for Windows-powered machines, Digital Band is an auto-accompaniment application that can automatically improvise accompaniments. It can accompany your humming, MIDI file, or keyboard playback.

Getting Digital Band up and running on a Windows PC is an effortless task. If you’ve installed other applications before, you will have no problems installing this one. You just have to download and run an installer and then follow a setup wizard’s instructions.

Three PNG files are used as the interface’s background image. You can switch from one image to another by using a button located in the bottom left hand corner of the application’s interface.
Six large buttons are presented on the interface: Make a song, Make an accompaniment, I Feel Lucky, Accompany your MIDI file, Accompany your humming, and Accompany your keyboard.

Import an audio file and Digital Band can improvise an accompaniment for it. Start playing on your keyboard and Digital Band can improvise an accompaniment. Start humming and, you’ve guessed it, Digital Band can improvise an accompaniment. On top of this great functionality, Digital Band has a very nice auto-composition feature – with just one click you can compose music.

The trial version is limited in functionality. You can check out the trial version’s limitations from the Help menu.

Ease of use, support for rich audio formats, a nice auto-composition feature, the option to improvise accompaniments from humming – you get all these and more from the properly good application Digital Band.
